General Practice Optometry CE
General Practice Optometry CE Opportunities cover a broad range of health issues relating to the eyes, vision, vision processing and related structures. The majority of courses are designed for the general practice optometrist, a healthcare professional who provides primary vision care, including sight testing and correction, prescribing eyeglasses and contact lenses. Detection of eye disease or evidence of systemic abnormalities is customary, however, general practice optometrists may often refer complex issues to other medical specialties for treatment and co-management. Optometry continuing education for general practice ODs includes treatment of eye diseases, including medical therapy. Generalists can also perform certain kinds of laser surgery in some states.See also: General Practice Optometry OrganizationsAmerican Optometry Association Armed Forces Optometric Society Great Western Council of Optometry Independent Doctors of Optometric Care Mountain West Council of Optometry National Optometric Association National Optometric Association for Minorities Optometric Extension Program Foundation |
